What is this blog all about?
This blog is about all things Mac and Apple, written from the perspective of a lifelong PC guy who’s just started using Apple tools.
Who are you?
I’m a Solution Architect living and working in New York City. I work for a vendor of software solutions for High Availability and Disaster Recovery.
What do you host the blog with?
My web-hosting partner is Dreamhost. The blog is hosted on my website through a WordPress platform.
What’s with the ads/links?
I financially support the blog, and some of my hosting costs are paid for via the ads and links that go to storefronts like Amazon.
Is this free?
Yes! Everything on my blog is offered free to those who can make use of it.
Can I link/quote/use your stuff?
Yes, you can. You must clearly show that the information came from newbie2mac.com, and you may not resell any content. You must offer the information free of charge to anyone who asks. This means you may not re-post or quote any information from this site behind paywalls or otherwise charge a direct subscription to access it (Exception: it may be quoted on blogs that are offered via the Kindle service, or other e-reader blogging services).
To sum up: You may go ahead and quote as you like, but always remember to tell people where you found the info, and never charge them for it if you can avoid it.
How do I contact you?
You can use the “Contact Mike Talon” link on the sidebar of any page of this blog. That will link to the correct email address.
Will you fix my Mac for me?
Nope, but if you search the sidebar for links, they can put you in touch with people who can.
You blocked my Comment! Why?
Usually, it’s because you did something that made me think you were a spammer. Want to avoid that? Do three things:
1 – Register so I know who you are – I use Disqus, so you probably already have and account you can post with.
2 – Make sure you only post links to sites that have at least something to do with your comment
3 – Don’t just quote text, if you want to comment, then COMMENT!

Can I advertise on your site?
Yes, but do it properly. Don’t attempt to advertise in the Comments section. Contact me to arrange for ad space, or use Google Adsense and you can show up in the header with the other ads I have there.
